Start with work you can verify

At the end of a day full of messages and meetings, it can be hard to say what moved forward. Check a saved document, a sent reply, or a change in version history before trying to reconstruct the whole day from memory.

A useful daily work log records what changed, how you can check it, and where work stopped. Use the format below for your own review. If you need a status report for someone else, adapt the relevant fields to your team's format.

Make each entry useful to tomorrow's reader

Vague entrySpecific entryWhere to verify
Updated proposalChanged pricing on page 7; discount note still needs reviewDocument history
Investigated bugRecorded reproduction steps; proposed fix has not been testedIssue, diff, test output
Attended meetingShared delivery proposal; approval is still pendingMeeting notes, follow-up email

These are invented examples. In your own log, distinguish an idea from an applied change and an applied change from a verified result. A page visit or an AI response does not establish that work was completed.

When the day is a blur, follow the time

Use your calendar to locate a meeting, then check document changes and browser history around that time. Transfer only what the record supports into the log. Leave missing details unconfirmed instead of filling gaps with a plausible story.

If a full daily log feels like too much maintenance, start with one field: the first action for tomorrow. Add fields when they prove useful. For interrupted work during the day, use the shorter restart note linked below.

Ask AI for a draft with evidence

A prompt for a recorded work session
Draft a daily work log from today's recorded activity.
Separate verified completion, research, and unfinished work.
For each item, include a source or time I can check.
Mark missing details as unconfirmed.
Suggest one first action for tomorrow.

Contextberg records the PC sources you enable on your device. You can review the timeline in Record, read generated summaries in Memory, and ask Chat about recorded context. Compare the draft with current files and original records before using it as a report. Choose capture settings and a model route that fit your workplace policy: external models receive selected context needed for processing, while a local model is also available.
