Read recent Contextberg work history in Claude Desktop
A short macOS walkthrough: record a small work session, connect Claude Desktop through MCP, and ask a question that verifies what was captured.

Start with a short recorded session
Install and open Contextberg using the current download page. Review the recording permissions and controls, then work normally for a few minutes: open a document or editor, read a page, and return to the Record view to see what was actually saved.
Do this before connecting an agent. If Record is empty because capture is paused or excluded, an MCP connection cannot reconstruct those missing events.
Connect Claude Desktop
In the macOS app, open the MCP connection area and choose Claude Desktop. Copy the command shown there; it includes the current local API URL for your installation and adds Contextberg to Claude Desktop's MCP configuration without replacing other servers. Run it, then reopen Claude Desktop.
The bridge starts with npx -y @contextberg/mcp-server and uses CONTEXTBERG_API_URL to reach the local app. Because the URL can vary, copy the command from the app rather than a hard-coded example on a web page. Windows users should likewise use the command shown in their installed app.
Verify the smallest useful answer
Ask Claude Desktop: “Using Contextberg, what apps and pages were in my recent recorded activity? Separate what you can observe from what you can only infer.” A short time window makes it easier to compare the answer with Record.
Then try a broader question: “Where did I leave off yesterday, and what should I open first?” A daily memory may not be available immediately after a short new session, so confirm recent Activity first.
If the answer is empty

If recent Activity works but a report does not, check the report's date and whether enough work has been recorded. Treat the underlying Record view as the check on any generated summary.
